If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass
springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of
nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive.
-Eleonora Duse
Do you see what I see?
I see a multi-coloured dragon
Snaking its way across the sapphire sky.
Its scales flash in the light,
Illuminating the heavens.
Do you see what I see?
I see a little feathered bird
Spreading its wings high up
In the vast expanse of rosy red.
It glides beyond the horizon.
Do you hear what I hear?
I hear the soft rustling of leaves
As they are scattered by the wind.
They crinkle and wink,
Sailing through the air.
Do you hear what I hear?
I hear joyous children's laughter.
As they run across the unbounded meadows.
Their laughter chimes in the wind
Echoing greatly.
Do you smell what I smell?
I smell fresh dew from the bottle green grass.
It is cool, uplifting,
Simply
Refreshing!
Do you smell what I smell?
I smell the clean woodsy scent
From the bark of the
Ancient, towering trees,
Surrounding the fences.
Do you feel what I feel?
I feel the soft, silky petals
Of the clean, bright flower
As I crush it beneath my fingers,
Sensing its sweet smoothness.
Do you feel what I feel?
I feel the comforting breeze
Caress my cheeks,
Whispering into my ears
Before brushing past me.
