Such gentle muse that comes within the night
And sprinkles life into my hopeful words,
Oh will you come and make my dreams take flight?

You seize the scribbles that I try to write
And then you change them into soaring birds,
Such gentle muse that comes within the night.

A struggle against some notions which I fight
And yet your will would push these things still forwards,
Oh will you come and make my dreams take flight?

And when an end should seem to come in sight
You whisper more with voice like a songbird's,
Such gentle muse that comes within the night.

When I appear to get this art just right
My muse, you let more come in many herds.
Oh will you come and make my dreams take flight?

Release my mind, my soul into starlight
And let me fly in wind a free sea bird.
Such gentle muse that comes within the night,
Oh will you come and make my dreams take flight?

Wendy: I had no idea all this was going on.
Dave: I did!
Wendy: (with heavy sarcasm) I'm sure you did. Resident genius and psychologist that you are.
(My favorite lines from I play I did.)
