And the salamander danced with the secretary bird
While the white cat kept the tune
And beyond the gold-lit dance hall
Hung the white orb of the moon
In the corner the fox sat all on his lone
And wove his web of lies
Never believe what the sly fox tells you
The amusement is just a slim disguise
And the dragon away in his stone cave
Hears music nevermore
Until the days of old return
And he emerges from the lore
The loyal hound missed all the fun
While the animals danced and played
Staying close by at his master's side
Through the weary nights and days
The tiger watched with lazy eyes
And an expression of disdain
Too noble by far to demean himself
With the others' foolish games
The bats and the squirrels up in the eves
Conversed on a number of things
Such as how life was up in the trees
And what it felt like to have wings
The salamander danced with the secretary bird
While the white cat kept the tune
While the mammals, birds, and reptiles all
Danced by the light of the moon
