A Just End

Compassion is hidden behind a mask of hate

Blue eyes that show how his mind works

Inside is a man who only wants to be loved

But why is his soul consumed in hate?

Why is love so distant to his soul?

Is love too much of a burden for him?

Goose-stepping soldiers flood the streets

Swastika adorned flags wave proudly

This is vital for the volk of Germany

But, is torment worth the security?

Is pain and agony so little?

Will this be the price Germany pays?

Poland falls to him, as does France

Europe bows down to the dictator's feet

Death means nothing now

It is merely an escape

The war rages on, but he feels nothing

'This is my destiny,' his mind assures him

Suddenly, a pain courses through him

It tears him from within

The hate bursts free of its chains

It rips him in half

It consumes all the good

He embraces death as his solace.
