Abstract

This paper offers a critical discussion concerning the pros and cons of whole-body transplants (head transplants). Featured prominently within the text are quotes from Dr. Robert White, the man who pioneered the procedure in monkeys in the 1970's, as well as two other doctors who passionately oppose his views. Which side is correct? Do the benefits of whole-body transplants really outweigh the seemingly sadistic research that has trailed it throughout its history?
