~Dream Sequence~
He walked down the hall, steps ringing in the quiet silence. His face was set in determination and his emerald eyes glittered fiercely. The doors flew open before him and his cherry hair was blown over his face in the gust of wind that accompanied it. Four men rose from their seats and their grim expressions told of what they had decided. He bared his teeth as he shook his head in disbelief and ran towards a woman's limp body. One of the four blonde men looked at him gravely with flickering gray eyes, pale hands clutching a tiny bundle. He opened his mouth and spoke,
"She was with child and not with a man of our choosing. She deserved to have her life ended for her disobedience. But an innocent child was born and we have decided not to hurt it."
Cherry curls shaking, he lifted sorrow-filled jade eyes to the men's faces. His trembling voice cried out,
"Why? She did nothing to deserve this!" With that, he collapsed, sobbing, clutching the lifeless body that was hers. Lifting a tear-stained face, he said softly,
"At least you would let me see my child."
The men shook their heads and hid the child in their billowing robes.
"You have disgraced the Hrinting name, for that you must depart this life."
They raised dark hands, filled with a glowing red light.
Bright green eyes looked on in horror and then in hate. Hissing in anger, he too lifted both hands,
"By all my power, your family will pay for the innocent death you have caused!" Lightning lanced down and engulfed the whole tower and at that moment, the man of cherry curls fell down with misted eyes and a smoking chest.
He cast a smile at the four dark figures, lips curling in a sinister grin,
"Your family's men will pay for messing with a vampire wizard..." his head went limp as a last crackle of white power sped from his fingers and onto the cold, hard pavement.
It began to rain.
~End Dream Sequence~
I woke up in a sweat as the loud dinging of the school bell jerked me from my sleep. What the hell was that? A trickle of sweat poured from my head and my breath came in small gasps. That man with the red hair, he had looked like me. What did that mean? I shook my head again. It had just been a dream...right?
The teacher, was it Mrs. Robins?, looked down her glasses at me and arched an eyebrow.
"Are you not going to go?" she said, pointing at the clock.
I stared coldly at her before packing up my books. She gave a shudder before looking away and a small smile made its way onto my face. As I stepped outside and into the hallway, my steps echoed softly, like in the dream. What had that dream meant? A hand went onto my shoulder and a familiar voice reached my ear.
"Why hello, dear Naomi," Macao whispered softly. I glared at him furiously and pushed him aside.
"Get away from me, you asshole," I spat out angrily, sneering in contempt.
Macao only looked at me with a funny grin on his face, black eyes boring into my head.
I turned around impatiently, "Don't you know that it's rude to stare, or is your head too jammed up your ass to know?" Tiny eddies of electricity were forming around me and I knew it.
Macao only grinned again, that bastard.
"So your power is finally manifesting. Took long enough, if you ask me," he said, casually leaning on a wall.
His head jerked around at some unseen sound and he looked at me and smiled again. Yeah, I know, he smiles a lot.
"Till we meet again, Miss Naomi." And with that, he disappeared...again. I rolled my eyes and thought one word.
'Showoff'
My bus was long gone, so I made the long walk home. It only took a couple of hours, maybe three. It gave me plenty of time to think.
What was the connection between me and that guy in my dream, if there was any kind of connection at all. I looked at my fingers and a small spark appeared. What was this all about? I mean, what was the point in having powers if you were going to die?
I finally reached home at around six. As I entered the house, the soft sound of laughter reached my ears. As I peeked into the living room, the scene that greeted me made my heart ache. It was my family.
My mom and dad were playing scrabble with Richie and they were laughing and having fun. It was a perfect family moment. I looked away, a single tear making its way down my cheek. My parents had only distanced themselves from me to try to lessen the pain that would come with my death. I bowed my head in sadness. Did I really have to die? My eyes snapped open in anger, and determination coursed through my veins.
I was going to figure out everything to this fucking curse and I was going to end it once and for all, not to mention get rid of that annoying dickhead, Macao.
A/N: Omg, stupid chapter. I only like the dream sequence. I don't think that I can really write this unless I'm kinda pissed. Whatever. You guys are the ones reading this. Ciao
