"Tom, I'm tired."
Tom looked at his friend with surprise. "Sam, you just woke up from a nap, how could you be tired?"
"I know," Sam replied, "But no matter how many naps a take, I am never rested."
Tom sighed. "I know what you mean." The two young men walked on in silence. An elderly man, very frail, walked by and shined them with a happy smile.
"Good day, Sam and Tom, I'm glad to see you too gentlemen out and about."
"Good day, Reverend Walker," they replied in unison.
When Rev. Walker passed by, they resumed talking, though it changed to about the elderly man.
"I don't know how he does it," said Sam, "Everyday, without fail, Rev. Walker is walking and there, tending to his congregation."
"Yes," Tom replied, "Rev. Walker always has a source of unknown energy. He is never too tired for anything. I remember, my Aunt Judy, when she had a heart attack at two in the morning. She had only been to Rev. Walker's church once or twice, yet he was right by her side."
"Amazing. I don't know if I would get up that early if she were my own Aunt. Yes, I remember her," Sam chuckled
A few weeks later, Sam and Tom were walking again. Again Rev. Walker passed by, with the usual smile.
"How do you have so much energy, Reverend?" Sam asked.
"Why, the more I help others, the more energy I get," Rev. Walker replied. With a look at his watch, Rev. Walker said goodbye and hurried on by.
"Imagine that," Tom chuckled, "Helping others! He's more naïve than I thought."
With that, the two friends walked off. "Tom, I'm tired."
"Yeah, me too."
