"As I Walk Through the Valley of Sleep"
My fingers slowly walk down
the smooth curve of your
back – they tip-toe across the
smooth plain of muscular
masculinity. With your head
resting just above my breast I
can feel how easily you breathe,
and how you gently sigh
in your sleep… Oh! What dreams
are in your head, while your
eyelashes rest on your cheek.
I could always stay like
that, I could get my rest
without sleeping as long as I can
watch you in your slumber.
As long as I can feel your
skin against mine and have
all of our limbs entangled
so that it's as if we are one
body – I could be happy
forever. Just let me stay always and
run my hands down the valley
of your shoulder blades and
I'll never cry again.
