As a little girl, Shanya got many scrapes and bruises, just like everybody else at her age. She was, in fact, a lot like everybody else at her age. Very normal, nothing abnormal. Not until, at least, one time in the summer.

It was night and she was riding her bike home from her friend's house. She was using an old, deserted back road as a shortcut back to her place because she was running late. it being deserted, the road was very rocky and tufts of grass grew all over. Her bike's front tire suddenly swerved on a patch of rocks and grass. She fought with it, trying to regain control, but it tipped over, sending her sprawling on the ground.

With a groan, Shanya had pulled herself up and inspected her bike. There was nothing wrong with it, just one dent. Pain suddenly shot through her leg, starting at her knee where she had landed on it. There was an itchy sensation on her skin there, too. She reached down and touched that spot, afraid to look. When she brought her finger up to look at it, it was covered in blood. She gasped and looked down to see blood trickling from an ugly cut in her leg. One of the rocks was bloody.

She gasped and frantically tried to wipe off every drop of blood from her knee. She sat down on a small boulder off the road. Shanya touched the cut, trying to see if there was any rocks or grit inside her cut that she should get out.

The cut disappeared. Blinking, she stared at the long trail of blood down her leg. There was no sign of the cut. Shaking with confusion and shock, she got up, walked to her bike, stood it up and sat down on it. After a few moments of hesitation, she kicked off the ground and started pedaling.

Even though the memory never completely left her head after that, Shanya didn't think anymore about it. In fact, by the time she got to her house five minutes later, the blood had completely disappeared. She blamed the whole incident on being tired and imagining the cut and it disappearing.

*A.N: Sorry that this prologue is so bad, but there had to be a better introduction than what I already had. I promise that the next chapter is longer and better! (Heck, it's already written!) Anyway, this is the only time I'm going to say this- review, review, review!*
