She sits on the curb, pulls her hair behind her ears and laughs.
Arms hugging her knees as she stares at the street.
No talking but I can hear everything she says.
We don't want to leave.
She leans in with her whole body and nudges my shoulder.
I laugh a little.
Then she looks at me sideways and smiles gently.
And it's perfect.
