The Scrolls of Tar Dashan

Chapter 2- Glass

That morning when Seth walked to school his biggest problem, he thought, was his Geometry test. That Mrs. Goad was a very hard teacher but he loved her class all the same. He smiled as he turned up the volume on his CD player and jammed down to Linkin Park. Then he fell through an inter-dimensional hole onto a warrior who jumped up, drawing his sword once more.

"What in all jitat is this?" The man yelled, glaring at Seth with hatred.

"Dude!" He said, "What's with the hardware!" Then he looked around, "Where the fuck am I!"

The other man looked at him; "You don't now know where the jitat you are?" Then he looked at the girl, "Is this the bri'sh'n goddess's fault." She shook her head and his eyes grew furious, "Jitat'n bri'sh'n goddess. This is all her fault." Then he looked at the boy closely. Then he sat down heavily and covered his eyes.

The boy held the Star of Dar'tira.

He stood and walked over to the boy, "What's your name?" He asked, staring at the ruby at the boy's throat.

"The name's Seth. Seth Harman. Who are you?" He asked, gazing around. "And when the fuck am I?"

"My name is Ibian..." He looked at the girl and sighed, "my name is Ibian Tar Dashan of the royal family of Senath. That's where you are. Senath, fourth planet of the Acrolithra star circle."

Seth's eyes widened. "I'm on an alien planet?"

"What's an alien?" Ibian asked, starting to get annoyed.

"An alien is a person not from Earth." His eyes suddenly lit up, "I'm on an alien planet. Oh my god, that is so cool."

Ibian held up his hand, commanding silence, "You are a sorcerer from this...Earth. Did you use your magic to get half way across the universe or were you brought here for a purpose?"

"He's here to fulfill the prophecy, sir Tar Dashan." The girl said acridly, "By the way, I am Ariania L'urgoth. I carry the Star of L'tira. The goddess L'tira is the sister to Dar'tira, god of the star of which you carry. The ruby at your throat, how did you come to acquire it?" She asked, flittering from one topic to another.

"Oh, this?" He touched the necklace; "I got it from my grandmother. She died last year and she willed it to me." He looked up, "If this came from here, then maybe you know her. Her name was Selena."

Ibian looked up quickly and Ariania gasped, "Selena Shardan?" Ariania asked, her hand touching her forehead in reverence.

'Oh boy.' Seth thought but then said out loud, "I guess you do know her."

Ibian pushed his grief back and said in a stern voice, "We need to go to the Mother City." But in his head he though, ' and back to what I ran away from in the first place.'
