Dog
I don't believe I know love
To feel my heart beat aflutter
At the sight of some godly figure to move
Me to the marrow of my bones
Love, sisterly love, I have felt
A loyalty never to be questioned with
And I, would have on scorching flames have knelt
To cradle my precious bundle of fur home
And spit! On the man that would leave me
My companion, you sit there knowing my world
To join in the foolish affairs such as sipping tea
And my friend, only you stay and keep me in good spirits
I am saddened to know that you have but seven years to my one
And when I am older, I do believe
That you will never leave, on short of death, for you are my sun
But, that when you do, a piece of me shall die, and life would be as night
