The Greatest Thief
He is a thief that never rests,
Stealing what mortals treasure most.
He's ever robbing, never sleeping.
Hiding in shadows,
A demon ghost.
He's always watching, hiding, seeking,
For a life easy enough to take.
The greatest thief, he's feared by many,
As cunning as a poisonous snake.
A stealer of hope, he's ever present,
Spreading sorrow where he thieves.
He'll bring apart lover, steal members from families,
Laughing as a helpless mortal grieves.
He cannot be stopped, this immortal thief.
His work won't be done till the end of earth.
He lives to rob. He robs to live.
Ending all that has begun with birth.
He can't be deceived, though some have tried.
They all must face him in the end.
When you're the greatest, you get what you want.
He'll come for you like an unwanted friend.
He'll come for you, like he does with us all,
Stealing your life after your last breath.
He's ever robbing, never sleeping,
Going by a name such as
Death.
