They took all of them to a central place in cattle cars. During this trip Millie woke up. When they reached the place where they were heading there were at least 2000 people already there. It was an incredible sight, all these people in one small area. At night they threw some straw on the floor, covered it with blankets and that is where they stayed for the night.

The next day Millie was taken and put into another group. They all had the letter's' placed onto their outer garments which meant "punishment". Millie had no idea what kind of punishment this was meant to be but she knew that it had to be terrible.

Millie and the rest of her group were herded very tightly into cattle cars again. There were hardly any facilities for their natural needs and so in time the whole car stank. Millie was in a complete daze due to her head injury and had no idea at all how long the trip took.

She was taken into a building and stripped naked and shaved of all her bodily hairs, allowed to have a brief shower and then handed a striped prisoners dress to wear. She was humiliated and she felt very degraded but as she looked around she realised that she was not the only one and she sunk back into a numbed silence again.

Millie had a gold tooth and when the soldiers looked into her mouth they saw it and extracted it there and then. She was then taken to be tattooed. She was bleeding form the mouth and the tattooing man felt pity for her and said, "Don't worry about your tooth. To console you I will tattoo your arm with the smallest possible numbers." "Thankyou" came Millie's whispered reply. It wasn't much of a consolation having numbers tattooed onto your arm but due to the mans kindness she felt and saw some hope in this whole ordeal.

Millie and the rest of her group were taken to the feared and horrible block 10. Soon after, some 'SS' men came to see them with papers held in their arms. One of the men, a man with dark hair said, "In block 10 we do experiments on women." Millie blanched experiments on women! Images of women being burnt, hurt and tortured swam through Millie's mind and she shuddered and nearly fainted again.

The man with the dark hair continued what he was saying. "You will have to sign this paper to say that you will be submitting to these tests out of your own free will. If you do not then you will be dealt with. That will mean very severe consequences" he said holding up one of the papers form the pile in his arm.

Millie looked around block 10. She saw many women with all sorts of wounds ranging from mere burns to holes in their bodies to missing limbs. She was shocked and horrified and did not want to go anywhere near the unfortunates. Millie was scared, she did not want to face severe consequences or be dealt with because that would mean certain death. However she did not think that she would survive the tests either. 'Why suffer and have all the pain first only to be gassed later anyway' she thought.

Millie's mind was made up when she heard the woman next to her say, "the tests are awful! They even include a substance being injected into your womb and ovaries! Who knows what it is or what will become of it." "I'm sorry Alexander" Millie whispered.

Millie did not sign up for the tests. She and a few others who had not either - including the women that she had heard talking - were led out of block 10 by the 'SS' men. Millie looked around and saw sad faces staring out of the block 10 windows. Seeing the look in her comrades eyes Millie decided to be brave and with her head held high Millie marched towards the certain choking death that awaited them in the gas chambers.
