I watched the waves,
Glisten in the sun.
I watched the kids,
Having so much fun.
I thought back to that day,
On the horrible beach,
When only four days after,
I had to give a speech.
The memories came back,
The screaming, the pain,
And the soft coffin cushion,
Of where he was lain.
I watched the waves,
Glisten in the sun,
And hated the ocean,
For taking my son.
