"Walking on Water"

There's a violent storm,

On this blackened sea,

I hold out my hand,

Won't you come to Me?

You will not sink,

If you will see,

With faith that defies,

Gravity.

I am not a phantom,

Nor am I a ghost,

I am the truth,

The Host of Hosts!

From the swelling boat,

Come forth, step out,

Cast aside your fear,

Put to rest your doubt.

There's a violent storm,

On this blackened sea,

I hold out my hand,

Won't you come to Me?

You will not sink,

If you will see,

With faith that defies,

Gravity.

They beckon you,

Calling from the boat,

"You will be killed!"

They warn and quote.

But you keep walking,

For you have found,

This water is,

As firm as ground.

There's a violent storm,

On this blackened sea,

I hold out my hand,

Won't you come to Me?

You will not sink,

If you will see,

With faith that defies,

Gravity.

The lightning strikes,

And thunder roars,

Fear sets in,

Like n'er before.

The howling winds,

Rip at your faith,

You begin to sink,

Beneath the waves.

There's a violent storm,

On this blackened sea,

I hold out my hand,

Won't you come to Me?

You will not sink,

If you will see,

With faith that defies,

Gravity.

I rescue you,

Like many times past,

Back out of the ocean,

You're safe at last.

Faith is returning,

To you at my side,

As we return to the boat,

Walking on the tide.

There's a violent storm,

On this blackened sea,

I held out my hand,

And you came to me,

You will never sink,

If you constantly see,

With faith that defies,

Gravity.

Author's notes-

I wrote this inspired by a thunderstorm (wouldn'tcha know it?). Also, youth group that nite was about Jesus and Peter walking on the water, and that obviously had much influence.

Reviews would be appreciated.
