She Blushed at all His Well-Said Words

She blushed at all his well-said words
Not meant to be flirtatious
And I stared from not too far away
Inviting myself to watch the scene unfold

I cheered her on with smiles
And an endless supply of what was meant-to-be-helpful gestures
And as he walked away after a cheerful goodbye
"Could you be anymore obvious?", she asked
The question was hissed and full of annoyance

She cast longing glances at his disappearing form
And I had little else to do but tease
She snapped at me, making sure I knew to stop
She knows how to make her words sting

And he just may love her, I suppose
And as I have heard so many times
"What's there about her that's not to like?"
Perhaps I could answer that question just a little too quickly

But I always say the right things, I guess
When she asks about his ardor for her
"It's obvious, isn't it, that he's head over heels?
Any day, you'll discover that too"

I could be jealous, but I've no time for things like that
I'm sure that what she's feeling is magical
But I'd rather not feel her heartbreak too, when the time comes
But perhaps it won't ever, things have a way with working out when concerning her
Of that I could be jealous,
But concerning her love, I think not

And she talked to him later
Eyes full of love he could not see
And I looked away, hands still and mouth kept straight
Thoughts devoid of envy green

Author's Note: This poem is a little old now, not too old, but just slightly different from my other work. It's loosely based on real life, but the only person it could be based on isn't mean in the slightest and she's the best! So yeah... Now that that's all settled, I'll just let you review.
