Not Friends

You were my greatest friend,
My best friend.
I had placed my bet,
The very day we met.
I though I had won,
Not just any prize,
A great one,
Or so I thought.
Apparently you didn't feel the same.
We were great friends for a while,
Then I was forgotten about.
Your other friends were all you talked 'bout.
I wished I was them,
I wished I was the one you wanted to be with,
But I wasn't.
So our great friendship crumbled.
I tried to be like your other friends,
But then you accused me of being you.
I guess that's why you like them and not me.
They naturally are your friends,
They're just like you.
I have to try,
I think I tried to hard.
I lost you.
