I got home in time for dinner. My dad was home, and we were having chicken. When I walked in the door, my dad said, "Alyssa! Is it true? Did you get glasses?"

"Yeah. . ." I replied.

"Well, don't just stand there! Let me see them!"

Reluctantly, I took them out and handed them to my dad. He took them and said, "On your face, silly!" He put them on me. . .

AHHHHH! My dad looked like a mad scientist! In an evil voice, he said, "They look wonderful on you, Alyssa, why don't you wear them?"

"NO!" I yelled, and pulled them off my face, "They are driving me crazy!" I realized I was sweating. I tried to calm down. I took a deep breath and said, "What I mean is, I can see fine without them. I don't think I need them all that much."

I sat down to eat some chicken. My mom said, "I think your father is right, Alyssa, put on your glasses."

"But, mom-"

"I said, Put them on! If you don't put them on, you can spend the rest of the night in your room."

I put my glasses on and looked at my plate. A skull stared up at me. I looked away and said, "I'm not hungry, I'm going out, bye." I stood up and went to the door, grabbing my purse. I walked outside, and wondered where I should go. . . The eye doctor? That place was freaky, I couldn't go alone. I decided to go to Vicky's house, and see if she wanted to go anywhere, maybe the eye doctor, she could see how crazy it was.

I knocked on Vicky's door. Her dad answered. Before I could say anything, he called, "VICKY! It's for you!"

Vicky came down and said, "Hey, Lyss, why are you here?"

"Umm. . . I just wanted to show you the place I got my glasses. . ."

"Why?"

"Because. . . They. . . Uh. . ."

"Ok, stop trying to make up a reason, I'll come." She grabbed her shoes, and came out. "So, where is this place?"

"Not too far." We walked the way I remembered my mom driving. When we got there, it looked just like I remembered.

Vicky said, "Ok, now what?" She looked at the eye doctor's. "There's nothing here."

I stared at her. "What are you talking about? Don't you see it?"

She said, "Maybe you should put your glasses on. . ."

I put my glasses on and it disappeared. "WHAT?! It's GONE?! NO WAY!" I took my glasses off. "Ok, there's something weird going on, and I'm gonna find out what."
