A dimpled smile
A tear-drenched face
A cheery hello
And a cold embrace.
A kindly question
Put to shame
A well-meant hand
That's torn away.
I'm two different people
On the inside
And I've been though so much
That there's no place to hide.
What you see
Is not what you get.
You shake hands with one
But one's all you met.
The real me is lost
This is all that is left.
A two-sided figure
That is all but just spent.
