At a loss for words
When the good people are always the ones punished
Sure you can say, "Builds stamina, personality"
But why?
It's so damn hard
A chore as simple as washing a face
Washing away those tears
Only brings more with all it implies
And all you can do is ask
"Why? Why me? When does it end? Will it?"
Hell, you know everyone else has problems too
Maybe worse than yours
But you're still all alone
Since you can't help but feel that no matter what their problems are
They can never be quite the same
And you know that you have to get through it
But it's so damn hard
And it makes people wonder what's wrong with the kids these days
But they're all so fucking blind
They don't see that THEY'RE the ones responsible
Instead they keep pointing their fingers
At everyone and everything except who really deserves it
Like they've always done
We're sorry your daddy hit you
And we know it's so damn hard
But can you justify the idea of
"I didn't have the privilege, why should you?"
And can you still use the excuse of
"It begins with you, not us"
What makes us so much better than you at this?
Do you think the way you treat us
Really will "inspire" us to begin?
It's so damn hard
And we're only human
And only some of us are strong enough to survive
Let alone having enough strength to change
The world around us
You're dream are in colour, my friends
Why do you begrudge us that?
And force ours to be in black and white?
You make it so damn hard
