"It's all a dream" she whispered to herself. She looked down into the lake and again saw the fangs. "I, I must be dead" she thought wildly, hissing in disgust. "I wish I was dead" she again screamed, wrinkling her nose at the thought of it.
"I've been watching you" a cold voice said from behind. She stood up instantly and faced the caller.
"Who, whose there?" she asked frowning
"I've been watching your habits for quite some time" the voice continued. Tess stared ahead but no-one was there.
"Who, who are you?" she bellowed, backing away towards the lapping water at her feet. Out of the darkness of the sky, a pale white hand appeared and her eyes widened in fear.
"Come my dear, come" it whispered, motioning her to come forward. "I'll take you out of this place, free you from your miseries, trust in me" the voice said and she felt obliged to come closer to the single white hand, which was visible. "There's a girl, come on" it said "Hold my hand"
"No.I" she trembled but the solemn voice held her in his power. Her mind refused, but her body obeyed him. "No" she cried repeatedly, as her hand locked with his.
He was silent, and for a moment she thought she was dreaming. A blinding flash shot through her body jolting her sharply and she found a pair of hand-cuffs chained around her wrists.
"I'm sorry my dear" the voice chanted "But never trust one who is invisible"
"Who are you?" she said gritting her teeth and refusing to move. "I am a vampress too, I can kill"
"My dear, you cannot kill what you cannot see" the voice laughed
"I am not your dear, and I can see you perfectly well" she said. She knew she was taking a risk, because she couldn't see him. All she could see was his hand.
"Yes, but I can change, I can change before you even realize" they mocked her "For I am, Lord Tullman". The name seemed distant to Tess, but it seemed to make her shudder.
She felt the hand pull her forward, but she dug her feet into the ground. Suddenly a second hand whipped out and grabbed her roughly. Tess had expected this and instantly dug her canines into his hand. He screamed for a moment as the canines dug deeply into his flesh then a throaty chuckle drew from his throat.
"You can't kill one who is dead, I am the most powerful Sorcerer of them all" he yelled. She realized he was telling the truth, because however much she tried to suck, no blood to her reddened lips. She growled in fury, and quickly withdrew her fangs. "Now come, before I decide to kill you" he demanded, and she followed him furiously.
"I don't want too! I'll kill you! Let me go!" she hissed, clawing at his hand in vein. "I will scratch your eyes out, till you can no longer see!" she again yelled spitting distastefully at him.
"SILENCE!" He roared, his voice bounding off the rocks and trees around them. "Silence you pitiful creature, or else I will claw your head off and have it mantled in my dinning room, where I can laugh at you death!" his anger enraged him more, and she could tell by his forceful grip tightening around her hand.
'Two can play this game' she thought to herself, extending the large scarlet wings from her body, she beat the wind behind her, and her smooth hands became dry and scaled. Pulling away with her new profound strength the hand-cuffs broke from her wrist and she pulled away from Lord Tullman hand.
"Do you really think that'll work?" he questioned her, as she sprang away from him instantly, she beat her wings heavily and launched herself into the air. "You are only half VAMPIRE" he yelled to her, as she wobbled around in the darkened sky. She knew it was true; her father was a great sorcerer and her mother a Dragon Elf, an Elfragon. Tess had her mother's ability to fly, but her father's viscosity in spells, but a vampire had sucked her blood, which made her half-immortal. She beat her wings heftily but she failed to notice a large wire net drop down on top of her. She was pulled down in it, but she beat her wings harder, snapping at the wire meshing, like a prisoner at his cell door.
Excited laughing greeted her ears as she began to grow weaker and weaker.
"Give in my dear!" Lord Tullman yelled, yanking harder on the rope, which was bound onto the net. Tess ignored him, but she knew she was captive.
Relentlessly her wings stopped beating, and the claws slotted back into her hands. Her dry parched skin again became soft and smooth, and she fluttered defeatedly to the ground still trapped in the meshed net.. She was still for a moment but she heard the mesh being pulled away and she was yanked to her feet.
"Ged'up" he snarled, thrusting her in front of him. "Don't ever do that again" she blinked for a moment, trying to push back the gathering emotional tears. She felt a sharp blade become pressed to her back "If you disobey me, I'll slit your throat" he threatened. She walked silently in front of him but stopped after a few meters. "Walk!" he yelled growing impatient "Walk!"
"No" she said standing still, suddenly she felt the sharp blade enter her side, and she collapsed in pain. "Stop! Stop! I'll walk!" she begged, but Lord Tullman didn't cease his vulgar actions. He pushed the dagger in, until the only thing left outside of her body was the handle. "Stop!" she begged again, cowering on the dry ground.
Instead he released the handle, and knitted the end of the rope through the hole in the handle. He opened his hands ordering the rope and wire meshing to un-bond and he tied the rope around his waist.
Tess gulped in pain, as she stood on her feet shakily, she was losing blood, and she was in pain.
"Didn't like that did you?" he asked, pulling on the rope violently. She felt the blade pull from a bit of flesh but it still remained clamped deep into her body. She flinched but walked ahead. How long she would last for was a mystery to her, she was already growing weaker, and her vision distorted.
