Time Capsule
For generations mankind has placed many keepsakes in boxes and crates for later generations to open. There have been newspapers, letter, postcards, etc in them. If we created a time capsule, I would choose to place a diary in it because it is different and it explains to the reader how each day passes in an American life.
A diary, full of notes and thoughts of one person, represents life in America. It provides the future generations who read it an example of the everyday life and experiences of a 2003 person. The diary will provide an insight into the hardships the writer had encountered and how the writer dealt with them. Lessons of respect, friendship, honor and even love maybe taught by a simple book placed in a time capsule that has been written centuries ago.
A diary is a keepsake to one person, but it can also be a teacher to another person a thousand years later. Just as we learn from the past today, a diary is a link and a teacher to someone in the future.
