"Don't think that your charm
And the fact that your arm
Is now around my neck
Will get you in my pants
I'll have to kick your ass
And make you never forget"
Lunch was by far the best period at school. If anyone didn't agree with that they were crazy. I sat down at my usual table with all the "unpopular" kids. Everyone thought of me being weird for doing that. I couldn't help hanging with people that I thought were real and fun to be around. The "popular" kids were all stuck up and rich. Why they didn't go to some private school instead of public school, no one knew.
Travis was busy making his concoctions to put into the soda machines like usual. The security guards knew it was him but they didn't care. They got tired of telling him to stop because they knew he wouldn't. Ashton stared into his book like he did everyday. You were lucky if you even got a word out of him. Lyle would just stare at passing girls and well guys, too. He was bisexual if you didn't guess. He was a great friend though because not only could you shop with him, you could also skateboard, play video games, and things most guys do. Kelly never really talked. She just kept to herself like Ashton. I don't even know what her voice sounds like to tell you the truth.
"Can I sit here?" Someone asked. I could tell it was Brett just by his voice.
I turned around and smiled.
"Sure!" I said with a little too much enthusiasm.
"Thanks." He replied sitting to the right of me. Lyle gave me a questioning look but I didn't know how to respond so I just shrugged.
"Sorry about earlier." I apologized to him.
"It's okay, I understand."
"What brings you here?"
"I saw you over here so I thought I'd stop by and chat."
"That's sweet." I smiled. "So what are you interested in?"
"You." He smiled back. I laughed uneasily in flattery. I looked at Lyle for support but even he didn't know what to do.
"I have a boyfriend." I told him.
"That doesn't matter to me. I still like you."
He was flirting with me and I was allowing him to. I didn't know if I should I feel bad or not.
"I think you need to lay off the girl." Kelly spoke for the first time that year.
"Who was asking you loser?" He snapped back.
"If you knew what was good for you, you would leave here." Aston added.
"What are you going to do, threaten me?"
"Brett, just go." Lyle joined.
"Fine, I'll just talk to you later Liz." He smirked as he bent down and kissed my cheek. Lyle and Aston were both clutching their fists. I just sat there not knowing what to do.
"I don't like that Brett kid." Aston glared.
"I don't either because of the way he treats girls." Kelly agreed.
"He should stay away from this table." Lyle said.
I was too caught up in my own thoughts to reply. I thought Brett was nice but I guess he wasn't really that nice at all.
