~*Raindrops in Summer*~
by Lalita
...
They're called raindrops in summer, spring, and even fall
But I... I call them tears
Tears from the sky
The heavens are crying, drowning the world in their sorrow
The wind releases its woe and wails an infant's endless cry
Dark and brooding clouds shadow the sun, and the only light comes from flashes of hatred
Thunder rumbles and rages in the distance, followed shortly by the screams of furious lightning
Strings inside of me are pulled, and I am memorized by the storm
I revel in its beauty, pity its conflicting emotions
Deep down, I scream, deny the injustices of life, beg to be delivered
I unleash the feelings that were hidden for so long
Tears course down my cheeks, and I weep with the storm
...
The tears ease
The cries become softer
As the storm fades away, weary and worn
And as the sun bursts through the clouds, chasing away the shadows and restoring warmth
I break free of my daze
I turn from the window
I walk away, feeling free and light as I haven't before
...
They're called raindrops in summer, spring, and even fall
But I... I call them tears
Tears from the sky
