Note: Caged is meant to be pronounced ca-ged (my damn computer won't let me put accent marks on words). The people I've made read this haven't gotten the imagery, so if you don't understand it, then scroll to the bottom.

My Caged Soul is Now Free

A crashing window
Does anyone see?
She dies as she lived
Alone,quietly
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

It was one final note
To find if no one did care
Her body dying in the street
They left her lying there
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

She screams of sorrow
Pain, loss, and fear
Falling away
From things once held dear
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

A man passes by
The body in the street
Bends, wipes one lonely tear
From her cold, bloody cheek
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

She falls to a field
Filled with the dead
Blood drips from old wounds
She puts a hand to her head
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

They stood in that field
Faces raised to the sky
Hundreds, each alone
They stood, crying "Why?"
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

The lost souls of the place
Cried to one man
He shook his head, weeping
"I'm sorry . . . I can't."
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

She takes her place there
Standing alone
Crying, screaming
Dreaming of home
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

Her cry somehow reached
The ear of that one above
He turned to see
This regret of lost love
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

The man smiled now
And cried "Be at peace!
I can finally give you
The blessed release!"
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

One by one screams died
Tear-stained faces turned
He smiled wider and yelled
"Your freedom is earned!"
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

The souls began to rise
Floating up to the sky
Now, each ones own pain
Could end, truly die
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

When the last soul had gone
To its own relieved rest
He turned to the girl
"My dear, I am blessed"
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

"It's because of you
Your regret, your sad cry
Because of your soul
I finally can die"
Head thrown back,
Fingers stained black,
My caged soul is now free

He took her hand
They floated near
The last thing she heard
His whisper in her ear
"Your head, thrown back
Your fingers, stained black
My caged soul too, is now free."

Explanation: She shot herself, and the gunpowder stained her fingers black.
