NOT QUITE DONE YET.
Prologue

We had graduated; everything was perfect, or so I thought. I didn't think that anything could touch us now, we had made it! Made it through the most difficult year of our lives so far. However, It's a commonly known fact that as soon as one area of your life improves, another goes terribly wrong.

School stopped, there were exams, and everyone was at breaking point. But somehow we came through it, and amazingly enough, we all did very well, and got the scores we'd need to get into our courses.

Mai Li, Jett, Christian and I had all been accepted at the University of Queensland. Needless to say we were all euphoric, our parents threw a party for us, and everyone came.

The next day Christian and I broke up. It was such a trivial argument, but both of us were too stubborn to admit it, or take the blame; or apologise.

We drifted apart over the summer, and Christian left our little group, returning to the company of his former cronies Graham and Daniel who had surprisingly enough, scraped through and managed to get into a TAFE course.

It was at this time that Mira moved in up the street, I remember because the first thing I saw when I went outside to get the paper the next morning, was her bouncy red hair. She and Christian hit it off pretty well from the first time that he saw her, and before I knew it, he and I were nothing but history. I looked out the window from the backseat, surrounded by my bags and books.

Another thing about Christian, I guess you could say that he changed. The Christian that I had known throughout my final year had been an all round good guy, he knew how to be bad, but usually elected not to.

I remember seeing Christian a couple of weeks after our break up, his blonde tipped brown hair was black, he had a spiked arm band, and was wearing what I swear was eye-liner. His shirt was black, and his jeans were badly ripped.

Try as hard as I could, that image stayed with me, as much as I wanted to forget about him and move on with my life.

A week later the letter came;

I had been accepted along with Jett and Mai Li for residency at one of the accommodation colleges that surround UQ.

Here we were now, my parents driving me to the place where I will be spending the next three years of my life.

I couldn't help the pang of remorse as we left our suburb behind and hit the open road, I don't know what this year will bring. All I know is that Christian Marlow is now out of my life, he's changed. As have I, and it's a lot darker than it used to be.
