The Gryphon's Farewell
Away I fly,
The loss of my world.
The lions and eagles allowed to remain
But not the gryphons,
We were both and for that you could not accept us.
Faded to legend, myth and children's tales
Where once I flew free
Through the world.
Green fields once mine,
No chain-link, and concrete
And faded pointless, wasted lives.
I live again in your minds.
In the darkness till the sun rises up.
Don't deny it you know I'm there.
