Any Day Like Now
By Joelle D. Haskell

Any day like now
With colors gently beating down
Somewhat like the sun
Like words rolling off the tongue

A river flowing
Secrets knowing
It just seems to be, to be
I'd be keen to see, to see
On any day like now

What is it, seen only in black?
What is it, glinting only in the void?
I hold it all; yet all I lack
I know, I have, and yet devoid

A hunter crying
Flower sighing
It just seems to be, to be
I'd be keen to see, to see
On any day like now

Remember forever, don't let go
Never block the river flow
I see what no others know
On any day like now I'd slow

A blind one feeling
Monarch kneeling
It just seems to be, to be
I'd be keen to see, to see
On any day like now
