The Actress's Mask
"Why are you different? Why are you that way? If you don't get in line we'll lock you away!" -DMB; Typical Situation

She stands on the stage
Alone
Delivering a monologue beautifully
The audience applauds diligently
Lies
She walks and speaks lightly
A Dreamer
They smile in her direction
Distracted
She enjoys their approval
Seemingly
But is disapointed at heart
Unfortunatly
For they never knew her true face
She's been wearing a mask
A sheild of fear
Protecting her true feelings from their wrath
Ridiculing
Hiding her hurtful fears behind a happy face
Painted
She can never let them see her true self
Monsterous
She is too afraid
Terrified
Only thos who were strong enough
Few
And were able to force the mask away
Amazing
They have seen her weakest moments
Fragile
And she clings to them for support
Clutching
Afraid that if she lets go
Slip
She will fall forever
Dying
And never get up again
Lost
And still, she dances for the audience
Sings for the audience
Performs for the audience
Hding away and hurting
Painful
It hurts more to be herself
Unbearable
Forever this shall be her life
Invisible
Acting behind the Actress's Mask
Afraid
Lying to herself, and others
Always
