The page rises up with the urgency to meet my pen.
Words
(the same that falter at the back of my throat
and like shy frightened children refuse to take the stage),
these same words are emboldened by distance.
I will emblazon my words on a page
when I cannot speak them
and I will save them,
comforted by knowing they are safe,
Immutable and unchanging,
as I hope you are.
