Jeremy woke up to the sound of slamming dresser drawers and closet doors. He groaned and said," Could you keep it down, my head is killing me."
"Oh, I'm sorry," Courtney said sarcastically and slammed another drawer closed, harder than before then chucked a bottle of aspirin at him.
Jeremy opened his eyes and abruptly sat up. She was packing a suitcase. "Where are you going?"
"I'm leaving Jeremy, for good. It's obvious that you don't want me here."
"Court please. I was drunk, and-"
"You're always drunk Jeremy! And I'm so sick and tired of it! You're always coming home drunk after midnight. Meanwhile I'm up worrying whether you're okay. You've never once called me to tell me where you were. But no more. It's over and done with now."
"I'll get help," he said. "I'll-"
"I don't believe anything you say anymore, Jeremy," she said with a sigh and closed the suitcase. "I'll be back for the rest of my stuff later on. I just need to get away from here."
Jeremy got up and followed her downstairs. "But where are you going to stay? You don't know anyone else in town Court."
"Oh now you're going to start worrying about me? When I'm about to walk out. Gee, I'm so glad you've cared so much all this time," she said with a disgusted tone. She grabbed a coat out of the closet. "I'm going home Jeremy. My mother could use the company," she said, grabbing her keys and heading out the door. She put the suitcase in the trunk and closed it with a loud slam, making Jeremy jump. She got in the car and started it up. "I really loved you Jeremy, and I think that I still do in some ways. But, I can't deal with this kind of stress at the moment. The doctor says it's not healthy. Goodbye, Jeremy."
Before he could protest, she was gone. That's when realization sunk in. This wasn't one of those arguments that could be resolved. She was gone for good.
"I have to get her back," Jeremy said aloud. "But it's not going to be easy." He went inside and got a bottle of beer out of the refrigerator. He hesitated before taking a sip. "No, this was the cause of everything," he said and dumped the beer down the drain. "This time Courtney, I will keep my word," he vowed. "I will get help and then I'll get you back."

I'm not sober all the time You bring me down at least you try Until we see this eye to eye I don't want you

I must be running out of luck 'Cause you're just not drunk enough to fuck And now I've had it up to here I don't, I don't want you
