Serenity sat in the bathroom and stared at the box sitting on the sink. She heard the front door open and close and heard Loxy's footsteps come down the hallway.

She knocked on the door. "Ser, is everything all right?"

Serenity nodded. "Yeah. Com in here."

Loxy opened the door and her eyes widened when she saw the box. "Are you-"

She sighed. "I don't know. I haven't taken it yet. I didn't want to do it by myself."

"Well, do you want to do it now?"

Serenity nodded. She got up and took the little white stick from the box.

"Let me know when you want me to come back in," Loxy said and walked out of the bathroom.

After a couple minutes, Serenity called Loxy back into the bathroom.

"Lox, look at it for me," she said quietly.

Loxy nodded. She picked up the stick and stared at it. She swallowed hard.

Serenity stared at her. "Well?"

"It's positive."

Serenity squeezed her eyes shut, and sighed dropping her head in her hands. "I'm pregnant again, and Jordan's not around."

Loxy sat down next to her and put her arm around Serenity's shoulder. Serenity took the test out of Loxy's hand and stared at the two lines.

"Can you believe it?" she asked with a laugh. "I'm actually…kind of excited."

Loxy laughed. "My best friend is going to be a mommy."

Serenity laughed, but it soon faded. "Sadly…without a daddy."

Serenity held the phone in her hand and debated whether or not to call Jordan. What difference would it make? It's not like he'd come running back to her.

She sighed and put down the phone. She didn't feel ready to tell him yet.

She turned her chair around and faced her boss. "Yes, sir?"

"Is your column done?" he asked.

"Um…yeah." She turned back to her desk and rummaged through papers until she found her story. "Here you go."

"Thanks. You know, Serenity. It's nice to have you back around here."

She smiled. "Thanks. It's good to be back."

He smiled back at her. "Well, I'll let you get back to work."

She turned back to her computer and stared at it. She had no idea what she was going to write for her next column.

She sighed and turned off her computer. Her column could wait. She had two weeks to get it in anyway.

"Carrie," she said to the secretary. "I'm going to go home. I'm not feeling real great."

"Okay," Carrie responded giving her a comforting smile. "Feel better."

Serenity walked into her apartment and collapsed on the couch. She pulled a blanket over her body and shut her eyes.

Loxy found her that way when she walked in from work. She walked over to her and kneeled down next to the couch.

"Ser?" she whispered.

Serenity groaned as her eyes fluttered open. "Hey," she said sleepily.

"What's up?" Loxy said with a laugh. "You feelin' okay?"

Serenity nodded and stretched out her arms and legs.

"Did you call Jordan?"

She bit her lip and shook her head. "I was going to. But…I'm so nervous. I don't know how he'd respond."

"He loves you! He'd be ecstatic!" Loxy exclaimed.

Serenity shrugged. "Maybe. But it's not like it would change anything between us. Things are already ruined."

"But maybe this would help things."

"Lox, I'm not having this baby to keep Jordan around. I'm going to have this baby whether or not Jordan wants a part in it."

"I know that. But at least tell him."

Serenity sat up. "I will…eventually."

Jordan held a picture in his hand and stared at it. It was of he and Serenity when they were younger. She was on his back wearing his sweatshirt. It was a picture they both had a copy of.

"Dude, you have to stop staring at that picture as if she's going to pop out of it," his brother Derek said. He handed Jordan a beer and sat down next to him on the couch.

"I know she's not coming back," he said quietly. "She made that pretty clear."

Derek stared at his brother. "You love her, right?"

Jordan nodded.

"Then, have you ever thought-Oh, I don't know-going to New York for her?"

He shrugged. "It wouldn't make a difference. I've already lost her, Derek."

Derek sighed. "Only because you've given up."

Jordan shook his head and picked up his beer. "I'll be in my room. I have to think."

"Okay. I'll be here. Doing something."

A month had already gone by, and Serenity still hadn't gotten up the nerve to call up Jordan to tell him she was pregnant. She was about two months along, and was beginning to show a tiny bit.

She rolled out of bed and walked into the kitchen to find Loxy cooking eggs and hash browns.

"Mm," Serenity said. "Please tell me you're cooking for me too."

Loxy laughed. "Yep."

Serenity sat on one of the stools at their little bar table. Loxy handed her a plate of food and grinned at her.

"This is going to be a great weekend," Loxy stated. "I can sense it."

Serenity rolled her eyes. "Sure, Lox."

"So, how are you feeling?"

She took a forkful of eggs and shrugged. "All right, I guess."

"Just let me know if you need anything."

"Okay. How about some of those nerves of steel you have so I can call Jordan?"

Loxy laughed. "I can't believe you still haven't done that."

Serenity sighed. "You don't understand. I mean, Jordan hasn't called me either."

"Jordan's not the one that's pregnant," Loxy stated with a smirk.

"Ha ha. What I mean is-he probably doesn't want anything to do with me anymore."

"Oh, just call him already."

"I'm eating!" Serenity protested.

"You're always eating!"

Serenity creased her brows together and threw a small piece of egg at Loxy. "Shut up."

"What are you doing?" Jordan asked when he walked into this bedroom.

"I'm packing your things for you," Derek said.

"Because for the past few weeks that I've been here, all you've done is mope around the house. Personally, I'm tired of it."

Jordan sighed. "So…are you kicking me out of my own house?"

Derek threw the duffel bag at him and it landed at his feet. "No," he said, "I'm telling you to stop acting like a baby, and go after the woman you love. I already bought you a plane ticket, so you can't say no. Your flight leaves at six."

Jordan sighed, but knew Derek was right. He had to face Serenity at least one more time. Even if it meant getting shot down again.

Oh wow….only ONE MORE CHAPTER! I'm kind of sad. Does anyone else feel sad when they know a story they're writing is coming to an end? I get that on every single one of my stories…: ( oh well…..

Shams: hehehe…so were you right about what was going on?

LoveroftheFlame: I hope it didn't leave you hanging too much in the last chapter. I'm glad you like it!

Klemmy: ooo..why thank you! : )

Anti Krypton: Thank you. I'll keep that in mind. I'm glad you like the story.

Romantic Chic: of course it's Jordan's…lol. Jordan is the only guy she's ever slept with.
