Oh I wish I could fly,

Fly and fly through the sky,

Unburdened by earth's gravity,

Flying so free so free.

But I am down in the dark,

I've never heard the song of a lark,

The bright rays of the sun,

Where I do live are none.

How I long to break out,

Leap through like a trout,

Swimming in a lone creek,

In the shadows to find a leak.

Because there is one thing,

That I know I could sing,

I am shadowed above,

By a curtain keeping out love.

So how I long to fly,

Come out into the sky.

Away from the gravity,

That holds me down, not free.
