Sinner
by: John Pugh

Before, my schedule clearly called for gloom,
Because of you that plan has come to nothing.
I planned on sitting in a lonely room
And never being loved, and never loving.

I planned on years of misery and grief,
Alone, dejected, hopeless and despairing.
I planned on letting feeling take its leave,
Before you ruined all my plans by caring.

You've robbed me with your generosity,
You've beguiled me with feelings that are true.
You've confused me with the plain simplicity
Of feelings of love I have for you.

And now with all my accusations aired,
Since you now know how evil you have been,
And since you know how my old plans have fared,
I ask you that you wrong me once again.
