Draw My Face

Draw my face -
The green of my eyes behind smudged frames
The ripeness of my mouth
The cheeks that were for so long stained
With tears (until I knew them by twenty seven names).
Reality in biting comments; heartlessness
Exposing the good underneath the oppression
Though it will scar slowly, the world
Still turns and every day, the sun's glow
Transitions from harsh to luminous
Against the visage, that before had so often
Contorted in pain
