Jonah's Point of View
I smirked at the look on her face; this is going to be so much fun. I have to admit that the only reason I bid on her was because of how good this was going to feel. To have Remembrance Pierce at my disposal, the girl that has been a pest on my back for the past ten years.
That and I wanted to show that annoying boy Derek Overton, that he could never beat me in a war with money. Imagine, trying to buy back your ex-girlfriend, he is such a loser.
So yeah, my being at this auction had nothing to do with raising money for new school uniforms. Although, I can't understand why the administration is keeping us from pooling into our own funds to buy them. Apparently, they want to show us how the rest of the world does it, as if we don't know how the blue collared world lives. The reason it truly is puzzling though, is the fact that we are still the ones paying for the things, whether we're giving a donation, or using our money to buy a person.
My grin widened at the angry scowl that spread across Remembrance's face, her jade eyes flashed dangerously as she turned to glare at her brother.
That's another thing that gets me, she doesn't worship me. Everyone worships me. I'm the richest, hottest, and most powerful guy in the school. And yet, she doesn't care, which is really getting on my nerves.
This, in all essence, is why I bought her. It's called ulterior motives my friend, and it's a great game to play.
"I'm not doing this." She hissed to Remington.
"Come on Mem, he's paying a lot of money." Her brother whispered back, in a calming tone.
"I'd pay a lot of money to get out of this!"
"I don't think you have that kind of cash." I quipped, inviting myself into their conversation; Mem whirled around and growled at me. I swear it sounded like a dog or something of that nature.
"I don't believe anyone ask your opinion Mills, so kindly, drop dead."
See, what did I tell you? This chick is totally not following the quota.
"Certainly you don't wish that, do you? Or would you rather I had backed down and let Derek buy you for a week?"
I swear, he whole face paled, "Derek was trying to…" She trailed off.
"Buy you," I supplied, being the great and wonderful gentleman that I am. Then I snickered, but only because she looked like she was ready to slug me. I turned, and looked up to Remington, one of my best friends, and trusted right-hand man—even though he doesn't understand my dislike of his twin. "Where do I go to pay?"
He looked nervous, his set of jade eyes couldn't seem to meet my own, and he mumbled something, and pointed to the headmaster, Mr. Harrington. Mem gave him a death glare, and then stalked off after Headmaster Harrington.
I sighed and turned to stare at Rem, "This is going to be rather intriguing." I smiled coyly.
His eyes actually narrowed at me, "Jonah, if you hurt her in anyway, your life is mine. And if you treat her like any of your other girlfriends, I will kill you." He stated in a cold, clipped tone.
Rem is usually a very pacifistic person, but he is known to be prone to violence when you mess with his twin sister. I tried not to gulp, and nodded my head. "Right Rem, no need to worry." Then I turned on my heel and followed after my prize.
I don't know what he's worried about. I would never treat Mem like any of my ex-girlfriends. Why would I do that?
Especially when I could treat her so much worse?
Remington's Point of View
Ever have one of those moments when you know you've done something so wrong that you might as well call it quits, and curl up and die? Well…okay, that was a little dramatic.
Have you ever made a really big mistake?
That's the only thing I can say to accidentally "selling" my sister to the school's self-proclaimed lady's man.
I know that sounds a little out there, but he has sent many a girl to a psychiatrist, wondering what they had done wrong or what was wrong with them. He charms them, dates them, has his way with them, and then breaks their spirit. And I don't think he even knows what he's doing to them. His world revolves around him.
All I have to say it that is he hurts Mem in any way, my threat will not be an empty one.
Remembrance's Point of View
I watched as Jonah slowly counted out eight hundred dollars, making sure that everyone saw him doing it. Basically screaming to the world: GUESS WHAT I JUST BOUGHT?! If he thinks that the money he has over my head is in any way going to lull me into submission, instead of beating him up, he must be living up in cloud nine.
He had better keep me away from the steak knives.
"Well, it seems to be that you are all mine now, Remembrance Olivia Pierce." He stated coyly.
I wanted to gag; I hate when people say my whole name—why do that have to do that? It's such a long name that you have to wait around forever for them to be done saying it. It's annoying. I love my name and everything, but I hate it when people take the time to say the whole thing.
"Don't bet your life on it, Mills." I sneered, narrowing my eyes at him.
He leaned down and grinned into my face, "Its sweet how you're still acting like you have control of yourself. Newsflash Pierce—you don't anymore."
I wanted to hurt his so badly! I titled my head to the side, "That's where you're wrong Mills, you won't own me ever. And besides that fact, the school deal doesn't start until tomorrow."
He straightened, and glared down at me, "Fine, I will be seeing you tomorrow them, Mem."
I tried not to growl at the nickname. Only my friends are allowed to call me 'Mem'. He smiled that annoying smile of his once again, and walked away.
Which was fine with me.
I'm going to go make myself an only child.
