It took a few days, but finally Fae recieved the call she had been waiting for: the phone call from the doctor.
"Miss Brooks?" she heard on the line and her heart skipped a beat.
"Yes, Dr. Whitefield?"
"Please, Miss Brooks, call me Stan. The point of this phone call is not to discuss my name, however. Are you currently busy?" Fae looked behind her at the laundry that was begging to be folded and hung, but she quickly decided that Anthony was of a greater importance than her clothes.
"No, not at all Doctor."
"Good. Could you please come to the hospital? Anthony is ready to be released but is unable to drive for multiple reasons. You are still the only contact we have for him. Do you think you could drive him home?" Fae sighed, it had been a while since her and Anthony had been in the same car.
"Yes, of course Stan," she replied with little to no delay. As little as she wanted to admit it, Fae was looking forward to seeing Anthony again.

After getting dressed in what she deemed "appropriate clothes" Fae had driven to the hospital and nearly run through the doors. Once inside, she began walking at a casual speed up to the third floor where Anthony and Dr. Whitefield would be waiting.
Anthony was standing at the door conversing polietly with the nurse. Dr. Whitefield was waiting for Fae just outside the door. He smiled slightly when he saw her approaching.
"When you see him just act natural... like everything is normal," he whispered.
"Why? What happened?" Fae asked frightened.
"Oh, nothing to really worry about. Just a small mistake with the surgery. Nothing life threatening though," she sighed. Fae knew from the beginning that Anthony wasn't going to be perfectly normal after the accident, but no she did not know what to expect.
Dr. Whitefield escorted Fae into the room and coughed lightly to get the attention of both of the other people in the room. The nurse gasped, blushed, and quickly left the room. Anthony smiled slightly. Fae could not see anything wrong with him, except one medium sized scar on his left cheek. He had a jacket draped over him.
Fae walked up and carefully hugged Anthony.
"Are you okay?" she asked in his ear. He nodded and gave her a one-armed hug, "Let's go home," she said.

Fae took Anthony home and walked him inside. Anthony turned and took his jacket off. When he turned back to face Fae and say goodbye, she saw that his right arm was bent at the elbow and was attached to his body with his hand up near his left shoulder.
She was shocked to say the least, but tried her best to show no sign of even noticing... until his arm started beating...
