Flares of light
Like short lived sparklers
We come and go
With a trail of change and memories in our wakes.
We tear through the paper corners of our lives
Half blind and screaming.
Taking it all in and instant
For want of some time.
Clinging like daisy petals
To our lives and hopes and loves
Before drifting down to the ground.
The sparks of our lives,
Flaring and dying
In the eternal blink of an eye
Like golden sunbursts against the night.
