He asks me to leave my dreams behind
When I move along this road
I'm getting older by the minute
And so I had to be told
Things aren't all hopes and dreams
And living for tomorrow
You have to make a living somehow
And dreams are just for show
He does what he has to do
And thinks that I should too
He told me to abandon my dreams
Cause he knows they won't come true
I haven't told him yet
That I think his way is wrong
How can I abandon dreams
That I have loved so long
I want to live
Not just survive
I've seen the ocean
And I want to dive
