She watched from across the way
The occurrences on that fateful day.
The plumes of smoke, the raging fire.
America's plight was surely dire.
Though, for us, she stood strong still,
And for all time, I know she will.
But she'll never in a million years,
Forget our worries or our tears.
As wind blew in the wake of the tragedy,
We look to our Statue of Liberty.
Waiting there, on her pedestal,
A gift to us, a priceless jewel.
She is the spirit of America and her soul.
For America, she's freedom's symbol.
She'll be there forever, our constellation,
Forever the hope of our great nation.
