Come on, I know it's empty, the boy said. His dark hair was just long enough to blow in the wind. He took another step towards the barn, pulling his girlfriend along.
I'm not sure it's such a good idea, Nick, she said. With her free hand, she brushed her golden hair away from her face, the wind just blowing it back.
I'll give you two reasons, he said. We're not getting home if the wind gets stronger, it'll blow up dust storms that'll kill us. And second, just you and me, Jessica...
Jessica giggled. All right, she said, following Nick into the barn. Instantly going for a pile of hay, they lied down, she over him.
There was the sound of something moving. What was that? Jessica wondered, instantly on full alert, trying to find out what it was.
Probably just the wind, baby, Nick said. Come on... Let's make this real good.
A blurry figure fell, or rather, jumped down to land in the middle of the barn. Nick, I thought I told you to take your girl and go home, the dark figure muttered at him. He had taken a more stable shape, as a figure, part red robes, they seemed to be a part of his skin, and they looked much like the red sand of the sandy plains.
You again!? Nick instantly said, grabbing a pitchfork that was stuck in the hay next to him, but when he turned towards the figure, it was completely gone. Jessica only stared at the figure up in the ceiling.
It'll soon be too late, he said. He was somehow whispering, or singing, his voice was much like the wind.
You're a whesh, right? Jessica asked, seeking shelter behind Nick.
So, someone didn't fall for the leaders' all wonderfully developed and civilized, reasonable fairy tales, then? the being said. Whispered. Sang. Blew. Whatever.
You haven't told me who you are, and what the hell you want of me, Nick said.
No, I haven't, the being said. While being silent, he had moved, without making a noise, far, he sat crouched right above the door.
Okay, answer me this, whesh, Nick said, What do you want of me?
Listen, little Nicky, he said. I tried to tell to you get out of here in time. You didn't. Now you're in my land. I live in the storms.
Oh my God, he's... He's got to be Shez Terethnien Rieltorin, Jessica said, still taken cover behind Nick.
Smart girl, the whesh said. Call me Shezri. What I want of you, is you being safe. And you're not.
Who do you think you are, whesh!? Nick raged at him.
Nick, please... Jessica said, trying to calm him down. If that guy really is Shez Terethnian Rieltorin, there' no way you'll live through challenging him. So don't.
Besides, I'm not here to fight, Shezri said. I came here to warn you. Unlike you, I'm not human. You better run out of here right now, the barn is going to be hit by Shez Kothronien Delierdakon. Which means it won't be here no more, and neither would you. Get ready to run. He had suddenly jumped down and stood right in front of them.
Not in the mood for having his great moment spoiled, and not believing in the fairy tales of wind beings, Nick ran the pitchfork through Shezri, Jessica screaming and turning away.
The wind instantly stopped. Now you can run, Shezri said, not much minding the pitchfork stuck through his chest. The shelter is a hole in the ground straight forward when you leave this barn, get down there. You don't have much time, so go!
Not understanding what was happening, both of them ran out of the barn, not seeing Shezri stand there, becoming a whirlwind of red dust. Only a few seconds later, the whole barn was engulfed in a huge tornado of dust and sand, the tornado followed the two youths towards their shelter.
It's gonna hit us! Jessica screamed. They were still running. Neither one saw the hole Shezri had been talking about.
We're gonna die, Nick stated, and stopped.
What are you doing!? Jessica, having taken a few more steps before she stopped and turned around, asked.
There is no hole. Those wind beings are just torturing us.
Come on, it's got to be somewhere... she said, continuing.
It isn't, Nick said.
Jessica screamed, suddenly vanishing out of sight. Nick felt the wind blowing in his back. he decided to run towards where Jessica had vanished. he didn't get far until he started sliding down a dark pit.
he said as he landed. It was a small cave, Jessica was probably there as well.
Nick, you got here! she said, instantly hugging him.
The wind was ripping the area apart on the surface, but when the rescue team came after them, they were walking safe and sound towards the colony. Hand in hand. Wondering what really had happened. But one thing was certain: they were not gonna consider the tales just tales anymore.

A/N I know it's a bit weird. I know, I know. Anybody have any guess on what I'm trying to say with it? Do tell me what you think of it, I'll read your stuff then, too.
