He nodded, "Si," he said.
"Oh ho ho, a smart one, eh?" Casey laughed. Ryan was already becoming used to the sound. Thank god she doesn't laugh like a prick, he thought to himself.
"Well anyways," she began, "We go to lunch at the end of third and Sarah's trailer is right beside ours, she'll probally wait for you. Don't eat anything she tells you not to, I'm warning you now." She said.
Ryan grinned at her and nodded, "Yes'sum," he said.
Casey smiled, she was already warming up to this new kid. Micheal made a grunting noise and she cocked an eyebrow at him. The three walked outside and a burst of air blew through. Casey ran her fingers loosely through her hair making sure it hadn't been disturbed too much. They made their way up to the trailer and immediately Ryan could her a woman yelling at someone in a heavy spanish accent.
"You no like my class?" she asked.
"Ms. Johnson, you can't speak any english!" the girl cried.
"I can speak, how do you say, English?" The teacher countered.
"Whatever! I want to be transferred from this class!" she insisted.
"No can do Anna, you in my class, you stay in my class." The teacher whom Ryan assumed was Ms. Johnson said. "No more discuss!"
Anna huffed, "Anna, calm down," Micheal said taking his seat.
"Yeah, we all want to escape her, it will never happen." Casey said sitting in front of Micheal.
Ms. Johnson looked up, "Oh, we have new student!" she cried and the class cringed.
"You should of ran for it while you had the chance." Anna whispered to Ryan as she passed him to take her seat.
"Como te llamas?" she asked him.
"Er, Ryan," he said looking to the spanish woman. She was watching him avidly and he cringed at her clothes, she was at least fifty and she dressed as though she were twenty.
"Ryan? No no, you need new name." She said.
"Frijoles, frijoles!" Casey cried.
"Oh, bueno, Maiz!" She called to Casey.
"Beans?" Ryan asked looking extremely confused.
Casey laughed again, "We all have weird names, don't fret, Turner." He smiled wearily at her and turned back to the teacher.
"Alright. Frijoles, sientense por favor." She said.
Spanish was amusing to Ryan. The whole class had names that consisited of foods and they all had a fun time aggrivating the teacher. Ryan saw her reach into her desk and almost everyone in the room cringed. She started ringing the bell even after everone was quiet, "You love 'he bell," she sighed.
After the real bell rang Casey walked out of spanish grumbling that she was going to steal the bell.
"How?" Ryan inquired.
"Magic," she answered.
"Good or bad?" he asked.
"Bad,"
"Oh, what kind of smoke? How about red, I like red smoke."
"What about blue?"
"That wouldn't be very evil,"
"I thought evil was green," Micheal said breaking in. Ryan and Casey smiled at each other and separated once Sarah showed up.
"Oh," Micheal began as he and Casey were waiting for Alex to show up. "I'll be joining you today in detention."
She raised an eyebrow at him, "You did that on purpose didn't you?"
"Yep," he grinned.
"Alright! I won't be alone, ten points for Chasler!" she cried.
"Yescah!" Alex cried as she rounded the corner, "You brought Mr. Bodyguard again?" she asked eyeing Micheal and laughing.
"Of course, what is there to entertain me in a library?" Casey said.
"Oh!" Alex began, "Tyler asked Rach out again!"
Casey gaped, "Again? They just broke up last week! What did Rachel say?"
Alex nodded, "I know, but can you believe this, Rach said no!."
Casey gaped, "Aw! I like Tyler, he's nice. Unlike some," she huffed in Alex's direction.
"Hey!" Alex cried, "That wasn't nice!"
"I'm sorry, we love you Xela," Casey teased.
"We?" Micheal asked coming into the conversation. He cocked an eyebrow at Casey, "I don't love Xela, she doesn't even call you by your name."
"Yescah is her name!" Alex argued.
"It's Hunter!" Micheal exclaimed.
"Ah, you two, be quiet!" Casey said jumping inbetween the two. "Let's just hurry up and get there. But I'm warning you Xela, if he does anything, I'm going after him." She warned.
"He's not that bad, Yescah." Alex pleaded.
"He tried to get you to sleep with him, Xela!" Casey cried.
"So? He's changed now!"
Casey threw a pleading look at Micheal who only shook his head in defeat.
"Whatever, look, there he is." Casey said as they entered the library. "Me and Micheal shall be entertaining ourselves over here, call if you need me." Casey told Alex and dragged Micheal to the other side of the room.
Meanwhile, back at lunch, Ryan was getting introduced to far too many people. Thankfully enough, Rachel didn't like sitting with fifty other people like Sarah did and the two sat at a table in a slightly secluded corner.
Ryan already made himself comfortable like he did back at his old school. He leaned against the wall with his feet in another chair.
"How do you like it here?" Rachel asked quietly.
"It's alright, not home though," Ryan said looking around him.
"I know what you mean," she said, "I moved here from New Jersey my freshman year. Where did you say you were from?" She asked.
"Illinois," he said simply.
"Oh," she nodded and then laughed. "What do you think of Casey?"
"Well," he began grinning aswell, "She's been my savior so far, I don't know what I would of done without her to lead me through to my classes. I would of never found spanish."
"You have spanish with her too? How many classes do you have with her?" she asked.
"Three, I think." He said.
"She'd normally be here, Micheal and Alex too," Rachel informed him, "But seeing how Alex is off on another one of her adventures." She sighed.
"Doesn't Casey call her Xela?" Ryan questioned.
She nodded, "Alex backwards,"
"Oooh," he began, "Then Yescah is Casey backwards."
"Roughly enough," Rachel confirmed.
"Ah, I'm not quite as confused now." He said.
She giggled, "Yeah, we have a lot of nick-names here. Casey has dealt most of them out, except for Hunter of course. That was Micheal," her face seemed to droop a bit when she said Micheal's name.
Ryan nodded, "Interesting offtake of her last name I must say."
She nodded aswell, "Micheal's a bit weird."
He smiled, "Oh, what classes do you have next?" She asked him. He dug through his pockets and handed her his schedule. "Oh, good! You have your next classes with me and the last with Casey too." She said after studying it.
He let out a sigh of relief and smiled at Rachel.
**
"Hunter, don't easedrop again," Micheal sighed.
"Shush!" Casey cried to him.
"So uh, you want to come over after school? My parents are gone," Nick said playing with the buttons on Alex's shirt.
"Ah, no no no Xela!" Casey cried in a hoarse whisper.
"Hunter," Micheal warned as she attempted to go out there.
"You aren't supposed to stick up for her!" Casey said turning back to him.
He opened his mouth but then the bell rang. "Thank God!" Casey cried and calmly, but quickly, walked out from where she and Micheal were to Alex.
"C'mon Xela." She said flatly.
"Be there in a minute," Alex said.
"But!" Casey began.
"Let's go Hunter," Micheal said pushing her slightly, "You can lecture her later," he whispered to her.
She sulked and he turned back to Alex, "Samson," he said and she turned to him, "Let's go," he said nodding his head to the door. She nodded and planted a kiss on Nick's cheek and slowly walked out the door to where Casey was waiting.
"What did you say?" Casey cried.
Alex shook her head, "I'll talk to you later," she stated and walked away.
"Xela, agh!" Casey said running her hands through her hair in defeat.
"You're so cute when you do that, Hunter." Micheal teased.
Casey looked up to him with a cynical expression, "Let's just go Chasler."
"We've already got detention, Hunter, why's there to rush to Gym?" He asked.
"I want to see if I can catch Rachel before she goes to Health, come on Chasler!" She cried and hurried out the side door.
There was a loud thump as Casey didn't bother to keep the door open and Micheal ran into it.
"Concusion!" He cried going cross-eyed.
"Oh! Sorry Micheal!" Casey cried turning back to him.
"That's alright, the room will stop spinning in a moment." He said shaking his head.
"Good, let's go." She said.
"Compassionate aren't we?" He cried sarcastically. She shrugged and grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to the gym.
"Rachel!" She cried as Rachel started to go into her health trailer.
"What?" she asked turning around and Ryan looked out from behind her.
"Oh, I see Turner's got that class with you. Hey Turner!" Casey cried waving.
He nodded towards her, "But Rach, Xela told me about Tyler." She said.
Rachel blushed, "I'll call you later, Case, bye." She said quickly and went in.
Casey came back into the gym and found Micheal had wandered off to another group of guys. As she began to sit her bookbag down two hands came up beside either side of her head leaning on the bleachers.
"Kenny," she sighed and ducked under them.
"C'mon, you know you love me Casey." He said and she only rolled her eyes.
"Justin!" A guy called and he looked over and nodded.
"Well," he began and tried to give her a hug.
"Kenny," she said again, this time in warning.
"What? I don't get a hug?" He asked.
She turned her head away and he planted a kiss on her cheek.
"KENNY!" She screamed and he ran off to his friends laughing. "Agh, AIDS AIDS AIDS," she exclaimed trying to wipe her cheek off, "And not the good kind! You'll pay for this Kenny!" She screamed across the gym.
"Oh you know you liked it," He yelled back grinning and turned to his friends again.
Casey sulked and she heard Micheal behind her laughing. "Find something funny, Chasler?" she asked turning around.
He shook his head, "What's all this rambling about AIDS Hunter?" He asked raising any eyebrow.
"Kenny gave me a kiss on the cheek," she grumbled once more rubbing the cheek.
"Who? Oh, Justin," Micheal said, his glance narrowing and he looked around the gym.
"His name is Kenny," she said flatly punching him in his arm.
"You and your nicknames," he teased looking back to her, "Need something to counter- act those bad SIDA?" he said slyly.
She cocked an eyebrow, "Insulting my nicknames and spanish terms? Why Micheal, I do believe you're hitting on your dear Hunter."
He only shrugged and the coaches called for everyone to go dress out.
