Issue #1:New

A van pulled into the driveway of a large two-story rustic looking house that stood in the large neighborhood of Paragon City. The van door slid open and out stepped a teenager that looked about seven teen. He had short black hair, hazel eyes and was wearing some casual clothes. He looked at his new home and frowned, he was going to miss his old friends. His parents relocated to Paragon because they were both offered jobs at the infamous Crey Industries. His parents were both celebrated scientists who always used their information to help mankind in any way they could. Although they were usually busy they would always find time for David.

"David can you help me with this box please," his mother called while lugging a box to their new house.

David ran and grabbed the opposite side of the box.

"Thankyou my pans are pretty heavy. David why do you look so down, you miss your friends don't you?"

His mom always could tell what David was thinking and feeling somehow.

"Yea I don't understand why we have to move to this crummy town away," he said frowning.

"Well son me and your farther were both offered complete access to the Crey laboratories and complete funding, think son are own lab.. What we always wanted."

"I've heard bad things about that place mom," he said already knowing what she was going to say.

"Rumors aren't good for you," they said at the same time.

They both smiled and went into there new home.

"Son get up for school," David's dad said while shaking him.

"I don't wanna," David said flipping over.

"Sorry son but you have to, now come get some breakfast."

David slept for a few more minutes then got up, put some clothes on and headed down stairs to the breakfast table where there were fresh waffles and eggs.

"My favorite," David said tossing a waffle into his mouth.

"Well eat up because your school bus is gonna be hear soon," his mom said tending to some bacon.

"Awww a school bus, I'm to old to ride a school bus," he said playing with his eggs.

"Better then walking son," his Dad said putting on his lab coat.

A sound of a loud horn filled their house.

"Your bus is here, have fun at school," his mom said taking away his plate.

"And remember to come visit us at the lab," his Dad shouted from inside the bathroom.

David rushed outside onto the bus; the bus was loud with laughter and talking. As David walked down the aisle he stepped on a large foot that was directly in the center of the aisle.

"Ow you idiot! You stepped on my foot!" A large kid yelled.

The bus grew silence.

"Rub my shoe off punk," the kid said standing up.

"Um no thanks," David said turning around and heading for the back of the bus.

The kid grabbed David's shoulder and turned him around and socked him in the stomach. David fell to the floor as the bus busted into laughter. David looked at the boy but knew his parents taught him peace and never to give in to stupidity. So David got up turned away from the kid and sat in the back of the bus. Later in the day at lunch David was walking through the halls to find his new locker when he bumped into the boy from the bus who was with two other large people.

"Look who it is, this is the guy who stepped all over my new shoes and didn't clean them off," the kid said looking back at his large friends.

All of a sudden David felt anger flowing from the kid and it felt like he could even feel it. Then even stranger he heard a thought from the kid: Hope he's gonna enjoy another punch.

David jumped to he left letting the kid's fist slam into one of the lockers sending a loud bang all through the hall.

"Ow you little punk, hold him guys," the kid said rubbing his hurt fist.

The two other kids grabbed David and held his arms behind his back, David almost felt connected to them in some way. The kid pulled back his fist and slammed it into David's stomach, soon as this happened all three kids held there stomach in pain as if they been punched themselves. David looked at them confused and made his escape out the hall.

After a long day of school and finding a local arcade David walked into his house. His parents were at the table eating dinner and David joined them.

"We didn't see you at the lab today David," his mom said sipping some soup.

"Oh sorry I forgot."

David began to think of all the strange things that happened to him today.

"Son is something bothering you." His Dad asked.

"How did you know something was bothering? How do you guys always know?" Dave said looking at each of his parents.

His parents looked at one another.

"Something strange happened to me today.. I could hear what someone was thinking.. And I could feel what they were feeling.. And I could make them feel what I felt!" Dave said explaining his story.

His parents looked at each other again.

"Well?" David said.

"Son we were going to tell you this," his mom said slowly.

:"Tell me what?" he asked.

"Well have you ever heard of Empathy are Telepathy?" she asked.

"Yea.. A little."

His dad nodded.

"Empathy is the ability to feel what others are thinking, and Telepathy is the ability to hear what others are thinking." His father said.

"You can do different things with both how you made someone feel what you were feeling." His mom said cutting in.

"What? I'm.. A psychic?"

"Yes son.. I'm actually a empath and show slight telepathy while your dad is a Telepath and shows slight empathy."

"Why didn't you guys tell me this before," David said surprised.

"We wanted to wait in tell you showed your abilities. Now son these "powers" aren't a game but we will explain more later right now you have to go to bed."

David nodded and went upstairs into his bed but didn't sleep much must since he was thinking about his new abilities.

David turned off his alarm and went downstairs to find a note on the fridge. It read: Had to go to the lab early see us at work after school.

David didn't feel like going to school today because he was to excited so he slept in for a few more hours. When school ended he got his bike and headed over to Crey Industries. Parking his bike outside he headed in and went up to a small receptionist desk.

"Hi I'm looking for my parents lab, last name Mumin," he said to the stocky woman.

"Fourth floor to your left, room 122," she said not even looking up.

David walked to the elevator and pushed the third floor button. As he rode the elevator up he got a strange feeling of pain and fear. David exited the elevator and went to room 122. Going in side he was surprised to see a large lab with all kinds of instruments and beakers and all kinds of scientific stuff. Suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his head, the pain too strong he fell to his knees, he then heard his named call out within his mind! David stood up and ran out the room, he could have sworn that was his mother's voice. David began to run down the hall somehow knowing where to go and came to a dead-end with a large steel door. The door had some kind of keylock with numbers. Picking up thoughts from inside the room he pressed the numbers 32324, suddenly the steel door flew open. David stepped inside and was filled with shock. His parents were lying on steel tables with wires connected to their heads and all over them bodies. They looked very weakened and in pain. David ran over to his parents who eyes were barely open.

"Dad, mom! What happened to you guys!" David said ripping out some of the wires.

"Son is that you?" His mom said softly.

"Yes mom it's me," he said grabbing her hand.

"They didn't want us for are studies...they wanted us to expierment on...because we were psychic..they wanted to make a new experimenting on us..you must get out of here son," his mom said in a low voice.

"Im not leaving you guys!"

"Son..you must..they may want you next..just remember..use your gifts to try to help people...and you will be okay in the long end..you grew up so fast," his father said coughing.

"There coming...you can't help us..go..so..n..," his mother said as she closed her eyes.

"Mom no! Dad..no.," he said crying.

"Get him and don't let him escape!" A woman yelled from the doorway.

People in metallic suits filled into the room and ran toward David. David took one last look at his parents and began to run. The doorway was blocked so David began to back up, tripping on a large pole as they approached him he crashed through a large window. He then began to plummet from the four- story window toward the pavement below...TO BE CONTINUED
