Some people reviewed the last chapter from a review circle on (a site that I heartily's not nearly as childish as it looks) and so I'm happy! But I don't like getting a nice review from "Anna- Elaine Castleman." First of all, couldn't she least think of something interesting to use as a penname...second, if you read her profile you will see...SHE"S A BUSHITE! If she flamed me, that'd be one thing...I enjoy pissing off Republicans. But she LIKED it! I may have to scrap the whole story now...grumble...anyway, here it is, the next chapter.

Justin stumbled backwards, the pendant slipping out of the thing's hand, and fell on his butt. What had just a second ago been empty air or blank walls was now full of shapes, forms, who knew what. There were faces, he thought, but he also saw mist...and other things...hands...then suddenly the whole thing was clear. The alley was gone and he was floating in a field of nothingness. And surrounding him were...people..? They looked normal, but they were all the color of mist...they were normally shaped, but their edges seemed to be shredding, then reforming like fog in a strong wind. They were dressed in what appeared to be armor, all different sorts, and holding a variety of weapons. He saw swords, maces, axes, staves...he saw one person holding his personal favorite weapon, a labyrinth or two- headed axe-like a quarterstaff only longer and with a double-sided axe head at both ends. Arrayed in ranks all around his floating form, they stood hands at their sides. Then, just as suddenly as they had appeared, they were gone. with a thump he realized after a moments had been purely mental, he found himself back in the alley with the strange thing that had just dumped this on him. He sat dumbfounded, staring at the being's smiling face. "What...did you do..?"

"I simply released the next level of the pendant's power. And if you were not the one, what just happened would not have done so. Now do you believe me?"
"Y-yeah, I think...I do. What do you want me to do?"
"For now...just go home and wait. I will contact you again." smiled and shook his head. "I may have proof that you are the one, but I still find it hard to believe." He turned and walked away. down the alley. Sometime later Justin got up. He wondered if it was a dream...then he saw a small statue lying on the ground of the alley. It seemed to be made of steel, and it was in the shape of a sword.
