In my own prison,
I hear the birds sing.
Their song is as sweet as a bright summer day.
How I long to escape,
To a world full of discovery,
But these chains the widow holds over me,
They hold me back,
Like a caged animal in the zoo,
A man like Thomas Grangrind should not determine reason,
How I long to see the circus,
Though I have patience like Job,
This feeling inside of me, is like,
A raging inferno!
Caught in eternal limbo,
Will I ever achieve?
Perfection in your eyes,
Will my salvation bring…?
Eternal satisfaction,
Forevermore and forevermore.
To be courageous is to be adventurous.
Like Lancelot was in times ago.
But will I find that courage,
To just finally let go.
How I long to tell you how I really thing,
How I believe your method is flawed,
But you are stubborn and persistent,
Like Willy Loman always was,
Blind to the truth of your faults,
Making others feel trapped,
Swimming in a pool of your arrogance.
Caught in eternal limbo,
Will I ever achieve?
Perfection in your eyes,
Will my salvation bring…?
Eternal satisfaction,
Forevermore and forevermore.
I stumbled down,
In front of your knees,
I glare up,
Yet I feel as though I am in front of Zeus himself,
I tremble like a child,
And I cry like a baby.
Yet, I feel as though,
The world has been lifted off my shoulders.
You know how I feel,
And are willing to change,
I am willing to change my ways as well.
Eternal compromise has been obtained,
To Purgatory and satisfaction I come.
My epic, complete.
Caught in eternal limbo,
Will I ever achieve?
Perfection in your eyes,
Will my salvation bring…?
Eternal satisfaction,
Forevermore and forevermore.
