When the Sun Goes Down

Like a friend betraying a friend
The sun goes down
Leaving me to dwell
On the life I have
Happy hour no longer here
It's time to let go
Until the next dawn

I don't know why I still hang on
There's nothing left to see
But I won't let go until it bleeds

The whispers in the wind praise me
Because I've burned my flesh
And watched as my ashes drifted away
Sparkling in the soft light
The sun goes down
I feel the warmth leave
I've been frost bitten
Against the wind
Against the rain
I see my own reflection in a puddle
And wonder,
Where have I gone?
What has happened to me?
