The princess of new york city - the long awaited chapter 11 (let's hang out on the stoop, yo).
It was half past four in Jeena's house... not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Well, I lied, actually everything that could possibly stir, was in full-on stir-mode.
Jea was readying herself in front of Trevin's bathroom mirror (since Jeena's bathroom was currently being occupied by the ever-throwing-up Jeena herself). She finally found something to wear in her friend's closet.
Anticipation was almost too much to handle. She suddenly felt nervous to see Ryan. He was merely my toy just last night. Why am I getting all fidget?
Jeena broke into the room as Jea began fixing her hair. "Jeena, one bathroom is enough... go back to your own toilet." Jea joked, however, for once Jeena had a serious face on. This managed to make Jea even more nervous. "Jee...What's wrong? Did someone die?" She asked sincerely concerned.
"No Jea, no one died."
"Then why are you staring a hole through my head?" Jeena stepped into the bathroom fully and slammed the door behind her. She looked mad...really really mad. Like 'you just ate all my Jelly Bellies' mad.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me."
"Tell you what Jee?"Poor Jea, utterly confused.
"I can't believe you kept that from me. And when you came over the other day in the rain I knew something was up. But I never thought it would be something this big, and if it was I knew you'd tell me. How come you don't trust me?"
"What- are you talking about what happened with Chris?... I thought I liked him but that's over, I told you about that." Have I gone nuts? Yet...
"Nothing to do with Chris. Except that he was the one who told me all about it."
"Jeena! Just tell me what the hell your talking about!"
"Ray tried to rape you."
A moment of awkward silence ensued. "How come you didn't tell me?" Jeena stared Jea down. Waiting for an acceptable answer. There really wasn't any.
"Jeena, it wasn't like that. I just...I didn't want it to become a big deal or anything. Chris promised me he'd keep it between us." That little rapscallion... I'll show him.
"Oh, so you planned on keeping it from me? Chris didn't tell me about it. I called him back ten minutes ago and I asked him if he saw you yesterday, and he told me you guys went to Ray's house. When I asked him if anything interesting happened out of curiosity, he was utterly surprised I didn't know. So I forced him to tell me about. God, I can't believe you'd try to keep something like that away from me. Jea, I'm your closest friend!"
"See, that's why. I didn't want you to go into cardiac arrest about it!"
"What cardiac a-who -what."
"Listen Jeena, you weren't there, your blowing it out of proportions, it wasn't such a big deal...Ray just got caught up, apparently I hadn't made it clear to him last time that we're over."
"Just got caught up? Right... So caught up that when you yelled for him to stop he ignored you. And when Chris yelled at him to stop he ignored him too."
"What...wait. Did Chris tell you all of this? Detail for detail?"
"I threatened to maim him if he didn't."
"Why wouldn't you just ask me about it?"
"I don't know...Maybe 'cause I wasn't sure if I could trust you, since obviously you think you can't trust me."
"Listen Jee, for the tenth time, it's not like that! Of course I can trust you-
"So why didn't you tell me? How come I had to find out from someone else?"
"Because, Me Chris and Ray are the only ones who knew." Nope. "And Flake."
"What? Flake knows too? Are you kidding me? Flake? Of all people?-
"He was there!" Jeena seemed to find nothing to say about this matter. She looked at her friend and then at the pale tiles on the bathroom floor. "Jeena I'm sorry. I should have told you. Your right."
"Whatever." She responded rolling her eyes and turning towards the door. Just as she reached for the knob, the door flew open and smacked Jeena right in the head.
Baker let himself in apologizing profusely.
"Baker what the hell!" Jeena shrieked, her hands covering her eye and her forehead.
It was all Jea could do from bursting into laughter at such a time.
"I'm so sorry dude, I just... I had to pee!" This sent Jea into more fits and eventually hyperventilation.
The helpless expression on Baker's face opened a door to the evil monkey's sensitive side. It seems Jeena was ready to pummel him with a bat as soon as her vision recovered.
Instead, she turned to Jea and mumbled "What are you laughing at? Dumb slut." In any other situation, Jea would have laughed her guts out, but coming from Jeena after their recent conversation, it nearly brought tears to Jea's eyes.
Pushing Baker aside (leaving him sorry and helpless once more) Jea rushed out of the room, and down the stair towards the front door, making her quick and easy getaway from this mess. Unfortunately, she ran head first into what felt like a brick wall. Only when the brick wall moved to turn around and face her did she realize, it was not a brick wall at all.
"Jea?" Ryan's voice beamed down from overhead. "Where are ya going?" He lifted her head and searched for her eyes, as they darted around desperately trying to stay away from his gaze, fearing she might break out in tears.
"I'm sorry Ryan, I..." She was at a loss for words. She had completely forgotten that Ryan was coming at all, and suddenly felt embarrassed whilst the crimson color rushed to her cheeks. Without a moment's notice, Ryan carried Jae outside, setting her down on the door step. He didn't say a word or ask her what had happened. He patiently waited for Jae to relax or cry, tell him the story, or kill him...or all of the above simultaneously.
It wasn't long before she broke out in tears, mumbling something about how everything was going wrong. "You're the only thing going good right now Ryan." She stammered. Hating the way he was seeing her in such a mess. Ryan held her close and kissed her forehead as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
There they sat threw the evening, until the moon was well on it's way. After sitting outside and talked to Ryan about everything (leaving out the details of what happened at Ray's) Jea felt better and more alive. Jea decided Ryan would get something special in return for his adorable kindness that day. Maybe a cookie, or a medal. Or even better, a free date, and he wouldn't even have to ask.
How generous of her.
For now, one thing is for sure, tonight, she would stay away from anyone she knows - aside from Ryan.
