This town's become a bore,
I'm packing my belongings,
And I'm heading for the shore.
There awaits a duck boat -
It's got my name carved in its side,
It's got an anchor and two oars,
And a few seats on the inside.
I hope I meet a fellow sailor,
So I can tell him 'bout my mission.
'practiced this speech for years now:
"Sir, I'm off to meet a Siren.
I'm looking for attention -
I've built this boat with pride.
I'd like to be enamored,
Stranded with her on her island.
"I want to fall in love, sir,
It's my time to be a fool.
For a Siren I would grovel,
For a Siren I would drool.
Sir, if I met a Siren
I would stare and smile wide.
I'd stay with her forever,
And on our island we will hide."
And that would be my story,
Then I'd kindly hear his own.
If it were the same I'd say
"I'm glad I'm not alone."
If his ship was sinking,
I would offer him a ride,
But if we come across a Siren,
He'll be thrown over the side!
