Darkness Paradoxal

Like lifetimes, the sun begins to fade 'way
As darkness takes hold of its bitter reins.
I cannot stand for the end of this day
For night shall bring with it too many banes.

Yet as golden sunlight fades from the Earth,
My fear of the dark now soon to be sealed,
A shimmer like turquoise hails from its berth -
A beam of a beauty so deftly revealed.

The sun now is falling quick through the sky,
And I know darkness soon surely will come.
Still try as I might I'm stuck looking nigh
As beautiful masks shroud a corrupt sum.

What demons will come when the sun fades 'way
Are lost in the trickery ending this day.
